A New Name, Same Mission: Why You’ll Start Seeing “Rachel Mahoney”
If you’re reading this, chances are you know me as RachelDeAlto.
That’s the name you’ve seen on this site, on stages, on TV, and in conversations about human connection, communication, and leadership. So if you’ve recently come across the name Rachel Mahoney and wondered, “Is that the same person?”—this post is for you.
Short answer: yes. Same human, same mission. New last name.
Why I’m changing my professional name
I was RachelDeAlto for over 20 years. It’s a name I kept after my divorce in 20 for my kids. However, in the past years, I have been legally and personally known Rachel Mahoney, ever since I got married in 2023.
Over time, as my life and my work evolved, it started to feel… off… that my public identity and my personal identity were split between two names.
My work is about authenticity, connection, and bringing your whole self into the rooms you’re in. Eventually, I had to look at my own name and admit: it was time for the outside to match the inside.
So, I made the decision to bring my personal name into my professional world. Going forward, I’ll be speaking, writing, and creating as Rachel Mahoney.
This doesn’t erase “DeAlto.” It honors those years—and then brings them forward into this next chapter.
